Irish Landscape
Landscape has played a central role throughout Carmel Mooney's career. She draws her inspiration from the visual environment of rural Ireland, for which she has a deep-rooted affinity. From the 1980s onwards, she began to immerse herself in the Irish landscape - its skies, seas, trees and animals - and produced a body of work much of which contains references to Irish mythology and superstitions.
